Amelie Labarthe
Textile designer, surface philosopher, atmosphere maker, designer for
tremendous fun, there are not enough labels to describe the profusion
of Amélie's little world. A world without concession, where humour is
conjugated with playfulness to revisit our feeling of the home.
Multi-disciplinary and multi-task designer, from graphic design to
movie making, from music to textiles, her eclecticism is legendary.
Often taking her inspiration from the 60's, from cartoons and vintage
toys, it would be impossible not to mention she loves to work for and
with children. They nurture her universe as much as she does when
teaching at CSM. At Puff and Flock, she is our kid specialist, our
inspector Gadget of the 60's, our Mary Poppins of textiles, but, shh…
this is our secret!
Amelie is currently guiding the students through the first year of the
MA Textiles Futures course with her wisdom and enthusiasm. She is now
also doing consultancy work for the V&A Museum of Childhood, the
magical kingdom of toys and stories
